Hamilton watches – A bit of history about them

The Hamilton Watch Co. was established way back in 1892 in PA, which was famous for its high quality timer and it provided timers of cutting-edge technology for American government in and after WW I. During the Second World War, Hamilton was selected as the only supplier who provided various watches, clocks, chronometers and timing devices for the U.S armies as well as allied countries. Almost every military vehicles or ships prepared for wars were equipped with Hamilton timers. According to wartime archives, Hamilton provided more than a million watches, clocks, chronometers, timing devices, aircraft watches and marine chronometers in wartime. As a result of this, Hamilton is a synonym of military watches. But Hamilton watch is now a member of Swatch.

The contribution of Hamilton watches was not neglected by the American government. Hamilton watch was awarded E Prize of the Armies and the Navy in wartime. At the same time, because of its purchase of American Treasury bonds in wartime, it won the Minute Man award. But what made all Hamilton employees touched was the honor that the army was devoted to Hamilton devices. Many field heroes who have medals in wartime regard Hamilton devices as their most precious possession that can be in the same place with congressional honors.

In 1957, Hamilton introduced the first digital watch Ventura in the world and in the following year, it launched the world’s first figured digital watch Pulsar. What’s more, Hamilton achieved much in Hollywood by its collaboration with top movies.
